Joshua R. Blakeney

Associate Attorney

Josh grew up on the gulf coast of Texas and after graduating from High School attended Texas State University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in philosophy. During summer breaks, Josh would spend time with his family, who moved to the St. Petersburg area shortly after he graduated from High School.

Following his completion of his undergraduate studies, Josh attended South Texas College of Law Houston where he made the Dean’s Honor List in multiple semesters and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. While in law school, Josh discovered his passion for tax law and upon graduating from South Texas College of Law Houston, attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he obtained his Master of Laws in Taxation.

Before joining Legacy Protection Lawyers, Josh worked in the London office of a large US law firm, where his legal practice focused on US and International taxation. While in that position he assisted clients in matters of cross border transactions, estate planning, federal transfer tax, federal income tax for both individuals and businesses, executive compensation, tax immigration planning and closely held business planning. Josh now uses his abilities and experience to assist our clients with federal tax planning, estate planning, and business formation and succession planning.
