Our Practice Areas
Our Estate Planning practice includes drafting wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, gifting, education or special needs trusts for family members, powers of attorney and health care directives. We help plan for full utilization of the federal and any applicable state estate, gift and generation—skipping transfer tax exemptions.
We help our clients transfer assets in an Estate and Trust Administration and Probate matter in a timely and efficient manner. This includes preparation of all court filings and, where necessary, federal and state estate tax returns. In addition, our lawyers can represent estates and beneficiaries in audits by the Internal Revenue Service.
Our Business practice includes assisting with the creation of a succession plan for closely-held and family-owned businesses. We develop a plan with executives and business owners to identify successors to own and manage the business or to plan for its disposition. We then prepare the necessary documents, including wills, trusts, buy-sell agreements and related agreements, to define and effectuate the owner’s wishes so that they can be implemented after the owner’s retirement or death without subjecting the family or the business to an unknown situation.
We provide “Outside” General Counsel services by working closely with members of senior management, in-house attorneys and other outside counsel in a cost-efficient manner. Once we have been retained, we will get up to speed quickly and efficiently about your unique business to become a trusted advisor on important strategic legal matters. We will help establish a proactive preventative legal environment of compliance in an efficient and cost-effective manner to allow you to focus attention on running your business. Our attorneys have significant business experience and can provide legal support in a wide range of legal areas.
